These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the effct. app and its community features. By using effct., you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
effct. is operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"). You can reach us at effct.app@proton.me.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.
The camera, filters, and your local gallery work without an account. You only need an account to publish filters, follow other users, like, or save.
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and don't impersonate anyone. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes your profile, published filters, and activity.
When you use the community features, you must follow our Community Guidelines. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Guidelines, at our discretion.
A published "filter" is a set of adjustment parameters (name, description, and numeric values) — not a photo. Your photos are never uploaded and never leave your device.
You retain ownership of the filters you create. By publishing a filter, you grant us and other effct. users a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, apply, save, and display that filter and its parameters within the app and its normal operation. This license exists so that the core feature of effct. — trying and saving filters other people share — can work. It ends for future use if you delete the filter, though copies other users already saved may remain on their devices.
You are responsible for the content you publish and confirm you have the right to publish it.
We may remove any content, and suspend or terminate any account, that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, the Guidelines, or the law, or that is reported and found objectionable.
Any paid subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store, subject to Apple's terms. We don't process or store your payment information.
effct. is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content shared by other users is accurate or appropriate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of effct.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and any disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Spain.
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
