Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 2026

effct. lets people create photo filters and share them with the community. These guidelines keep that space usable for everyone. They apply to everything you make public: your username, display name, bio, and the filters you publish (their name and description). If you break them, we may remove content, restrict features, or terminate your account.

Be decent

Treat other people the way you'd want to be treated. Disagreement is fine; abuse is not.

What's not allowed

Names and descriptions

Usernames, display names, filter names, and descriptions must follow the same rules. Don't use them to get around this policy with slurs, harassment, or offensive language.

A note on photos

effct. never uploads your photos. Published filters are just sets of adjustment values — no images are shared. When you "try" a filter, the processing happens entirely on your device.

Reporting and blocking

If you see something that breaks these rules, use the report option on the filter or profile. You can also block a user, which hides their content from you and yours from them. We review reports and act on them.

Enforcement

Depending on the severity, we may remove content, disable features, or suspend or permanently terminate accounts. We don't tolerate objectionable content or abusive users.
